The DF64E is a variation of the very popular single dosing DF64 grinder that has been taking an increasing share of the world grinder market since it was introduced in late 2020. While the DF64 is a single dosing only grinder, the DF64E has an electronic dosing feature that allows home baristas to use a hopper and use electronic dosing if they don't feel like weighing out beans for single dosing. Another major difference is the DF64E is an espresso only grinder will the DF64 is an all purpose grinder.

If you have a 58mm portafilter you can grind directly into the portafilter. If you have another size portafilter, you can grind into the dosing cup and transfer to your portafilter.

If you want to single dose, you can always remove the hopper and use the manual grind option. In order to get the retention to as little as possible, the DF64E has a bellows that can be used to clear any grinds remaining in the chamber.

The DF64E comes standard with stainless steel burrs, but there are wide range of 64mm options to choose from if you want to upgrade your burrs. Many vendors sell with SSP high uniformity, SSP Multi Purpose, or SSP cast burrs as optional upgrades.

On this grinder, the bottom burr is adjusted. This provides a steadier distance between the burrs, but it also keeps your grind size in place while you clean the grinder. With grinders that have top burr adjustment, it is necessary to redial in your coffee every time you clean the grind chamber.
